Details of Gracious Inc. Special Needs Art Services:

These art classes for developmentally or intellectually disabled adults focus on providing creative and social interaction with stimulating and colorful projects. I like to coordinate our project with conversation about a topic. For instance, in one class we made colorful fish mosaics and started a conversation about pets. It got everyone talking about their favorite animals and learning about each other's pets at home. Shy and reserved participants were excited to share their thoughts and opinions.
"I find it extremely fulfilling to share my love of art and creativity with others. This is especially true for those that are sometimes forgotten or marginalized. Stimulating the visual experience and motor skills is vital to learning and socializing. It brings meaning and joy to the students' lives (and mine!)"

Danielle Corso teaches painting classAfter pursuing a BA in fine art and graphic design at Montclair State University, Danielle worked over 10 years as a graphic designer, and art director for various magazine and newspaper publications. In 2009, she became a mom to twins and left her full-time career to pursue motherhood and freelance design work.

She instructs eclectic groups of adults of various abilities in many types of art media, crafts, and other social and creative classes. In 2023 she was invited to join Gracious Services Inc. to bring art programming to their special needs adult population.

As a self-proclaimed “Jersey Girl”, originally from Jackson, she now balances family life, her art business, and her teenage twins. She also has a rescue cat named Kali, a rescue dog named Buster, 4 turtles, and a bunch of fish.

She enjoys socializing with friends and family, spending time with her family watching movies, traveling, photography, enjoying nature and the beach, and of course making art!
