Register for Special Needs Art Class

These art classes for developmentally or intellectually disabled adults focus on providing creative and social interaction with stimulating and colorful projects.
Projects often coordinate with conversation about a topic. For instance, in one class we made colorful fish mosaics and started a conversation about pets. It got everyone talking about their favorite animals and learning about each other's pets at home. Shy and reserved participants were excited to share their thoughts and opinions.
"I find it extremely fulfilling to share my love of art and creativity with others. This is especially true for those that are sometimes forgotten or marginalized. Stimulating the visual experience and motor skills is vital to learning and socializing. It brings meaning and joy to the students' lives (and mine!)"
